The park at 2960 Henderson Road reserves its large pavilion for $40 a day, booked on a short agreement form you take in person to City Hall, 2659 Front Street, along with payment. City Hall is (850) 352-4361, open Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and closed for lunch from noon to 12:30.

Here's the part worth knowing before you book: the agreement carries an all-caps notice that no vehicles are allowed inside the gates at any time except those displaying a handicap tag, and violators can be ticketed. In practice that means an inflatable gets hand-carted in from the parking area rather than driven to the pavilion. It's completely doable — we just need to know in advance so we bring the right gear and allow the extra time. Tell us you're at the rec park and we'll plan for it.

What's Actually at the Rec Park

The 2026 renovation was substantial: a large pavilion, renovated restrooms and concession stand, ball fields with new dugout covers, a playground with new swings and fresh safety surfacing, tennis and basketball courts, a repainted shuffleboard court, a walking trail, and a new pocket park. It's a proper facility for a town this size. Two things we can't confirm from the city's published material are whether there's an outlet at the pavilion and what the park's posted rules say about inflatables — so ask both when you drop off your agreement, and we'll bring a generator if the answer is no power.

At the Cottondale Community Center

One door down from City Hall at 2666 Front Street, this is the town's indoor option and the obvious rain plan. The auditorium holds 300 people, or 150 seated for dining, with kitchen facilities. It runs $150 for the day plus a $200 refundable deposit — $350 up front, with the deposit returned after cleanup. The city offers optional setup for $75 and cleanup for $200, but those need a week's notice. Bring your own kitchen supplies (none are furnished), and note the deposit is cash or check only — no money orders, and you'll need a driver's license to collect the key. A common Cottondale setup is the community center indoors with a bouncer out in the yard.

In a Cottondale Backyard

Simplest option of all — no form, no fee, no gate. We need flat grass or concrete matching the unit's listed footprint, the listed overhead clearance, and a standard outlet within 100 feet. On a slab or driveway we anchor with sandbags instead of stakes; just mention the surface when you book.
