Where Can I Set Up a Bounce House in Vernon?

Where most Vernon rentals go, and space is rarely the constraint. We need flat grass or concrete matching the unit's listed footprint, the listed overhead clearance, and a standard outlet within 100 feet. Out on the creek roads, tell us if you're on a long dirt drive and we'll plan the approach. On a slab we anchor with sandbags rather than stakes.
At Shady Grove Ballpark or the SportsPlex
Both are City of Vernon property. Shady Grove Ballpark sits on Shady Grove Road just east of Highway 79 — six acres that the school board transferred to the city in 1991 to be recreational space in perpetuity, on the site of the old Shady Grove Elementary. The Vernon SportsPlex on Moss Hill Road is where the city's youth leagues play and where the Easter egg hunt and the Fourth of July fireworks happen.
Vernon doesn't publish a park reservation form or a fee schedule, so the honest answer is: call City Hall at (850) 535-2444 and ask what your event needs. The Recreation Department is reachable at (850) 260-4002. Ask about power while you're on the phone — if there's no outlet where you're setting up, we'll bring a generator.
At the Community Center — the 1931 Old School
Vernon's community center is the old red-brick school built in 1931, home of the Yellow Jackets until the high school moved out to Moss Hill Road in 2006. The city took it over and renovated it, which is why City Hall's address is on Yellow Jacket Drive. It's available for public rental, and there's a good chance somebody in your family went to class in that building. Capacity and fees aren't published — call the City Clerk at (850) 535-2444. Indoor inflatables want about 16 feet of ceiling clearance, so check the room height for the unit you're after.
Down on Holmes Creek
Holmes Creek is a state-designated paddling trail with dozens of documented springs, and it's genuinely the best thing about Vernon. Cotton Landing, about three miles north of town on Highway 277, has a picnic pavilion, parking, restroom facilities, and a gentle hand-launch. The canoe livery on Highway 79 runs kayaks, tubing, and shuttles. A creek-side party plus a bouncer back at the house is a very Vernon kind of day. One caution: Cypress Spring is on private land with no public road access — it's reachable only from the water, so don't plan to drive anyone there.
