At Wilder Park — and Yes, There's Power
Wilder Park on Columbia Boulevard is county-owned, and the local road-and-services district has been steadily improving it: a large pavilion with working electric and lights, a rebuilt playground, a tennis court now striped for pickleball, a skate area, and benches and picnic tables.
That powered pavilion is the headline for us. It means no generator — we plug in and go, which is genuinely uncommon at a small-town park. Washington County doesn't publish a pavilion fee schedule or an online booking system, so call Parks & Recreation at (850) 638-6280 to check availability and what your event needs. Restroom work has been underway there, so ask about that too if it matters for your group.
At the Sunny Hills Community Center
The building at 4083 Challenger Boulevard does triple duty as the public library branch, the community meeting hall, and the local services office. It rents for $50 for four hours or less, $150 for a full day, plus a $200 refundable deposit, and holds up to 135 people with a kitchen, tables, chairs, air conditioning, and WiFi. One honest caveat: the facility's policy restricts commercial activity inside the building, so if you want an inflatable indoors, clear it with the library staff first when you reserve. In practice most people here rent the room for food and cake and put the bouncer outside, which sidesteps the question entirely.
At Boat Lake
The Civic Association's Boat Lake Swim Park is 44 acres with a white-sand beach, a playground, beach volleyball, grills, restrooms, and a 20×25 pavilion that's explicitly rentable for parties and reunions — the only spot in the community you can reserve for exclusive use. Day passes run about $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Worth knowing before you plan: no pets, no alcohol, and no glass past the parking area, and children under 16 need an adult. It's also unusually accessible, with ramps to the water and beach mats. The Association handles bookings.
In a Sunny Hills Backyard
Still the simplest option. We need flat grass or concrete matching the unit's listed footprint, the listed overhead clearance, and a standard outlet within 100 feet. If you're in one of the newer builds, measure your side gate — we need roughly 36 inches to roll a unit into a fenced yard. And if you're on one of the wooded lots where the house sits well back from the road, mention it so we plan the approach.
